Q. For years I have had a yeast infection under my breasts, under my arms and in the groin. Nothing works. I know other women have this problem. I would be grateful for any remedies that might help.
A. Several years ago we heard from men who suffered from jock itch that applications of old-fashioned amber Listerine was helpful against this fungal infection. Some women also report that applying Listerine daily to those areas is helpful.
If the skin were raw, though, Listerine would probably burn. Reducing sweating with an antiperspirant (or possibly milk of magnesia) applied every morning may also be helpful. Good luck with this tough problem!

I saw some really good suggestions, and will try them. Thank you. Great site.

Garlic is one of the strongest anti fungals around. put some juice into the listerine and you will zap that fungus really fast. Eating garlic is also very helpful. It goes into the skin. Mosquitos will hate you too.
Listerine works because menthol, thymol, and eucalytol are anti-fungal. The alcohol may burn a little but this goes away in a moment. The fact that it evaporates quickly leaving the skin dry is helpful.
Fungus wants moisture and a non-acid environment. Vinegar works very well but dilute it 50% and dry the area with a hair dryer using room temp. air.
Creams and milk of magnesia (anti-acid) will make the problem worse.

How to exactly apply the Listerine? Thank you.

Pond’s Cold Cream will overnight clear up any and all of these fungi, from chapped lips, diaper rash, breast fungus, jock itch, cold wind burn on cheeks, taking off makeup, etc.It is a little messy, but washes out of sheets on the bed and clothes. Have used for years and years. Teen-aged boys using on their jock itch from their uniform. Of course diaper rash needs to be monitored for seriousness, but may be prevented with a layer of cold cream instead of powder. Thanks for the opportunity for me to share.

This is the first year I did not have a problem with a fungal rash under my breasts. I tried your suggestion of Milk of Magnesia. I used to have an itchy burning rash under my breasts, my belly and around my little toe. I still have to watch my sugar, but MOM has worked miracles.

My fingers were splitting on the ends,my wife told me to put vaseline on them at night wear cotton gloves or wrap them. In 2-3 days they were healed. Vaseline is the only thing that worked for me.

For son-in-law with problems with fingers and toes. I started using Cetaphil Antibacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar to wash my feet and between my toes to help with my athletes foot problem. Before I put shoes on I use the Gentle Skin Cleanser by same manufacturer on my feet. I use the Cleanser again when my day is finished. It has been quite helpful.

I also had a yeast infection in creases in my body but a few years ago something in your articles made me try corn starch. It cleared it right up. I poured out the talcum powder in my container with a powder puff and filled the container with corn starch. Now, after every shower, I powder myself in all my creases with corn starch. It is very soothing and it works.

My son-in-law has been plagued with his fingers and toes being sore and splitting. Dermatologists has helped only minor. Steroids only temporary. any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

I had a fungal infection behind my ear which comes and goes. I have found that if I take a lot of cinnamon – I put at least a tablespoon a day on or in my food that the infection will disappear. I think the cinnamon controls the sugar that feeds the fungus. I have read that too much cinnamon in powder form can cause liver problems so you can also get the benefits of cinnamon from using it as a tea or adding it to your coffee grounds when making coffee.

My husband suffered from red welts under his breasts and inside his elbows and around his groin area. After using an antiperspirant twice a day, the redness was gone in a couple of days…It seems to me that the last thing you want to apply are creams.

Creams used for diaper rash are helpful and soothing. Such as Boudreaux’s Butt Paste which was created by a pharmacist and named by a customer, and Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment. Your pharmacist can order these. Also, very important, check the clothes next to your skin for dyes that may be irritating. Wear white fabric next to your skin under whatever else you wear that is colored.
